Combat Robotics @ Cornell

Florence Sportsman Lance

CRC builds robots! I was a part of the Sportsman subteam of CRC, whose goal is to build a 12 lb robot every year to compete at the Norwalk Havoc Robot League (NHRL) competition in the spring. The catch, however, is that Sportsman aims to use a different weapon strategy than high-speed spinners, and instead employs lifters, flippers, and other configurations to destroy the competition. We design the robot in the fall, speccing motors and parts, and using Autodesk Fusion to make sure it's all under the 12 lb weight limit. Then, we manufacture parts and build the bot in the spring, working to get it all done before competition. In my Master's year, I was no longer on Sportsman and instead worked on the Marketing subteam to promote the team.

Junior Year: Lance

During my first year on the team, we worked on Lance, a flipper robot made of HDPE. Look at his website page below to learn more about him!

Senior Year: Florence

On my second year on the team, I served as Sportsman's Vice Subteam Lead and helped oversee the team as we designed and built Florence, a unique 3-sided triangle-shaped flipper bot.

Masters Year: Marketing

During my final year on CRC, I joined the marketing team and helped run our social media pages to promote the team. We were able to get the account to over 1,000 followers! That year, I also designed some merch for the team and even made a giant plush version of Lance.
